Alan Cossey
Alan has an MA in Natural Sciences from Trinity College, Cambridge. He worked for a transnational chemical company for 24 years, starting as a production chemist before moving into general management. The last 7 years there were in IT, mainly designing Microsoft Access databases in areas such as production management, non-conformance reporting and safety audits. This included integrating with other tools such as spreadsheets and e-mail to produce comprehensive solutions.
Since April 2004, Alan has headed up Premier Data Technologies producing solutions for a print-finishing firm, a neurologist, a gunsmith, a firm hiring out equipment to oil and gas firms operating in the North Sea, a charity, a firm producing local searches and Home Information Packs and his former employer, the transnational chemical company.
Alan was part of the invitation-only group who had access to Microsoft's Access 2010 product at its pre-public beta stage and again had access to its "release candidate" stage prior to the public launch of Access 2010 as part of the Microsoft Office 2010 product.
A long time member of the UK Access User Group (UK AUG), Alan became its Eastern Region co-ordinator in 2006 and is a regular speaker at its regional and national events. .
